HGV Driver Role

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Category C/C+E vehicles safely, legally, and efficiently.
  • Follow all drivers’ hours and transport regulations.
  • Load and unload vehicles while keeping loads secure.
  • Conduct vehicle checks and report any issues.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers.
  • Complete paperwork and use devices like scanners or PDAs.
  • Plan routes and report any issues to the traffic office.
  • Always Adhere to Health & Safety rules.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 or 2 license with CPC card.
  • Minimum of 1 year HGV driving experience.
  • Knowledge of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changes.

  • Collect and load waste safely and efficiently.
  • Work with a team to complete daily routes.
  • Keep equipment and vehicles clean and in good condition.
  • Follow all Health & Safety rules.
  • Assist the driver with route navigation if needed.

Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to lift and carry waste.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Experience in waste management is a bonus but not essential.
